Close liaison with specialists from the St George Combined Head and Neck Cancer Clinic means that comprehensive multimodality cancer therapy is available with ablative and reconstructive surgery, radiotherapy, oncological, dental and ancillary health support actively involved.

Sialendoscopy – this is a recently introduced endoscopic treatment of salivary gland pathology using microendoscope to allow investigation of salivary duct pathology and in certain instances, removal of stones which may allow an improvement in painful obstructive symptoms without removal of the gland. This enjoys popularity in Europe and Dr Farrell has attended a course with Dr Francis Marchal, a world leader in sialendoscopy, in Geneva, Switzerland. Dr Michael Farrell is the first Australian surgeon to attend this course.
Minimally invasive thyroid surgery in certain select cases can surgically treat thyroid nodules. Dr Farrell was able to undertake an intensive course in thyroid surgery in Pisa, Italy with Professor Paolo Miccoli, one of the world's leading thyroid surgeons, particularly with the use of endoscopic techniques.
CO2 Laser Surgery - Allows endoscopic treatment of select malignant and premalignant conditions in the oral cavity, oropharynx and larynx. Dr Farrell has attended a limited number invitational only International Course in Gottingden, Germany with the founder of modern CO2 Laser Surgery, Professor Steiner.
